POM POMS

8 January 2015

Hello!
Aren't pom poms just the cutest little things and fun to make?
Every time I went to make a pom pom it would go terribly wrong.

But recently I got a pom pom maker from Spotlight with a French Knitting Bee, and since then pom pom making has been a whole lot easier!

HOW TO MAKE A POM POM W/ A POM POM MAKER

All you have to do is...

01. Cut a small length of wool and place it in the pom pom maker.

02. Wrap your wool around either the small or large pom pom "fork". (Depending on the size you would like your pom pom to be.)

04. Tie a knot in the middle with that loose piece of wool VERY tightly.

05. Take it off the pom pom maker.

06. Cut both sides.

07. Trim the pom pom into the shape of a sphere, cutting any stray ends.

08. Ta- daaaaaa your pom pom is finished!

MAKE IT + SIX INGREDIENT SLICE

14 July 2014

Hello friends,
Today I have an awesome make it recipe for you!

What you need:

1. 115 gram butter, melted

2. 1 cup Arnott's granita biscuit crumbs

3. 3/4 cup Nestle milk chocolate melts

4. handful pecans

5. 3/4 cup shredded coconut

6. 1 can sweetened condensed milk

Set your oven to 160ยบ fan forced. Lightly grease a square pan, and line it with baking paper. I found it was easier if you left a small overhang to help pull in out when it's cooked.

Poor the melted butter into the pan and lightly tap pan to spread it out evenly. Sprinkle the biscuit crumbs {you prepared earlier} evenly on top of the butter.

Add the rest of the ingredients in this order in their own even layer, chocolate chips, then pecans and then coconut.

Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the top so everything is covered. Bake for 25 minutes. Let them cool. Cut into serving squares and enjoy!

From my experience I would do a couple of things differently including; using more biscuit to create a thicker base {maybe 1 + 1/2 cups}. Don't cut while really hot! I know you'll want to eat straight away but resist temptation and let it cool first!
